Itinerary

Departure

Leaving from Lawnmarket (the Royal Mile) you will appreciate the incredible views of Edinburgh Castle. A citadel erected on top of an extinct volcano. From there, you will see the magnificent views of the Old Town and hear the history of its medieval skyscrapers.

Grassmarket

We will now go through the Grassmarket. A meeting place for visitors and locals in the area with splendid views of the castle. It is a very famous site, since it was where people were executed in the past. Some of its many pubs still remember the most incredible stories of that era.

Royal Mile

The Royal Mile connects Edinburgh Castle with the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Some say that at the time, it was the most populated street in Europe. Whether it is true or not, it is clear that the “Royal Mile” contains some of the most incredible stories in the city.

Holyrood Palace

Passing through the old street where the nobles lived, we will tell you the stories of love and hate that occurred in the Palace of Isabel II. Around, you we will see the new Parliament of Scotland, and we will approach the imposing Arthur Seat hill. As a curiosity, you will have the opportunity to see what Mary Stuart’s bathroom was.

Calton Hill

Why were people afraid to go up Calton Hill? It is the most famous hill in Edinburgh; highlighted by its peculiar stories and its imposing monuments, also known as the three shames that still prevail in the city today. From here, you can see the whole city; and we will go up to immortalize the most impressive photos of Edinburgh in your vacations!

Princes Street

From here, you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the old town, Edinburgh Castle and the gardens. Despite not being the official main street of the city, Princes Street is undoubtedly the busiest street in Edinburgh. A street where only public transportation and the mythical stage of the Trainspotting movie was filmed, this place contains many other interesting stories.

The New Town

The upper class of Edinburgh got tired of living in the dirty and ugly Old Town, and decided to build the New Town. Thus, the New Town was born with its large boulevards, wide squares and private gardens that will impress anyone who sees them. Are you going to miss it?

Customer Reviews

I’m travelling solo and did a bus tour with NessieHunters on my second day in the city. Our guide, Joe, was hilarious, and very informative. This was also a great way for me to make friends in a new city! My favourite part was touring Calton Hill, which you take a 30 minute recess from the bus to climb and take pictures. I might not have done it otherwise so I’m very grateful for the experience! Thanks, Joe and co.

We just went out from the hotel to grab some ice cream in the Royal Mile then we came across to this free tour bus and decided to hop on! Well it was worth it! I love the tales of mysteries in Edinburgh and plus points also for the tourguide, Joe! He got a great of sense of humor and good-looking as well.
