Departure from Lawnmarket
Departing from the Royal Mile you will able to appreciate the incredible views of Edinburgh Castle, erected on top of an extinct volcano. You will also appreciate the views of the old city and the history of its medieval skyscrapers.
Then we drive through the Grassmarket, a place with a lot of history where people were executed in the past. Its pubs still remember the most incredible stories of that time. Shorlty after you will see the most beloved dog statue in Edinburgh. Bobby is an institution in the city.
Bobby and The National Museum of Scotland
Continuaremos hacia Chambers Street donde se encuetra el Museo Nacional de Escocia y Bobby el perro más querido de Edimburgo. Sin duda alguna es toda una institución en la ciudad.
Canongate – The Royal Mile
We will see the five streets that make up the Royal Mile. Made from volcanic material, it connects the Edinburgh Castle with the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Some say that at the time it was the most populated street in Europe.
Palace of Holyroodhouse
Passing through the old street where the nobles lived, we will tell you the stories of love and hate that occurred in the Palace of Holyroodhouse. You will also see the new Parliament of Scotland and we will approach the imposing Arthur’s Seat. As a curiosity, you will have the opportunity to see what was Mary Queen of Scot’s bathroom.
Calton Hill – Stop
Why were people afraid to climb Calton Hill? It is now time to find out and easily climb this incredible hill to take the most amazing pictures of the city. Discover the stories of witchcraft and superstition that surrounded the hill. Although it is said it is not cursed anymore, The Shame of the city still prevails on the top.
From here you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the old town, Edinburgh Castle and the Princes Street Gardens. Despite not being the official main street of the city, Princes Street is undoubtedly the busiest street in Edinburgh. A street where only public transportation is allowed and where the famous beggining of the Trainspotting movie was filmed. A beutiful street full of many other interesting stories.
St Andrew Square
St Andrew’s Square is one of the most prestigious venues in the New Town of Edinburgh. Characterized more by its bars, restaurants and designer shops. It is distinguished by its fantastic public garden and the Melville monument, which is 41 feet high.
The Edinburgh’s upper class got tired of living in the dirty and ugly old town and decided to build a new place for them. Therefore the New Town was born with its large boulevards, wide squares and private gardens that will impress anyone who sees them. Are you going to miss it?
Welcome to the most famous shopping area of Edinburgh. A place to buy items of great designers, visit its beautiful buildings and do business in one of its many cafes and offices,. George Street has it all. And when night comes, the street comes alive in many of the elegant bars and clubs in the area.
Our tour guide was fantastic, he explained us all really good he was so calm. Time just went so fast
I’m travelling solo and did a bus tour with NessieHunters on my second day in the city. Our guide, Joe, was hilarious, and very informative. This was also a great way for me to make friends in a new city! My favourite part was touring Calton Hill, which you take a 30 minute recess from the bus to climb and take pictures. I might not have done it otherwise so I’m very grateful for the experience! Thanks, Joe and co.
